Camporee Guidelines

From the volunteer 2004 Spring Camporee Staff
  WE NEED YOUR HELP

The April 23rd-25th, 2004 Trailblazer Camporee will be the largest event ever held at Roger Scout Reservation. Our camp resources are going to be extended to their limits. To make this week- end successful we are asking everybody to help by following these few suggestions.

  Parking could become an issue

PLEASE NO PARKING IN CAMPSITES, please park all vehicles in the parking lots by the training lodge. There will also be other parking areas posted as needed.

The parking lot along the fence of the parade ground is reserved for the day guests.

Due to the large number of people expected, there will no vehicles, except for camp and emergency vehicles, allowed pass the gate at Scout World on Saturday from 7:30am-6:00pm. There will be a shuttle service from Scout World into Camp all day on Saturday. We have to keep our Scouts safe by keeping traffic to an absolute minimum.

  Camp Sites/Water
There are going to be a lot of people here. Please only take the campsites
that you need, and do not block off other campsites. Live close.. Make a new friend.

A SCOUT IS PREPARED!!! Even though we do not expect any problems, some always do come up. Please bring lots of extra drinking water and plenty of trash bags with you when you come. We are going to use the guidelines of low-impact camping for trash removal: IF YOU PACK IT IN, PACK IT HOME. especially your trash!

  Scoutcraft Contest
What would a camporee be without some fun competition? We are going to have a contest to see which troop can come up with the best camp gadgets in the Westark Area Council. There will be judges coming around on Saturday afternoon to evaluate the camp gadgets that your Scouts can create using Scouting methods. The winning troop will receive a brand new set of Lodge Dutch Ovens.
