  Subject: Chemistry Badge

Troop 7 will be hosting a Chemistry Badge workshop on July 24th at Grand Ave Baptist Church. The World famous chemist, H. Dieter Heinz, will be in town teaching the Fort Smith Firefighters a chemistry class and has agreed to teach the Boy Scout Chemistry Badge for us.

Mr. Dieter Heinz is the father of two eagle scouts.

He is an Analytical Chemist, Educator, Curriculum Developer, Author and Professional Speaker.

He is a pioneer in the field of Hazardous Materials. He developed and instructed one of the first Hazardous Materials classes ever offered in the State of California in the early 1970s. Today he teaches emergency responders worldwide. This year the State of Arkansas has paid him $120,000 to teach Weapons of Mass Destruction Awareness, Chemistry I and II. to the firefighters of Little Rock, Jonesboro and Fort Smith,

Dieter Heinz is also a precise, accurate and experienced forensic scientist. Dieter has advised and worked with many attorneys nationwide on legal cases involving Hazardous Materials. He has appeared in Federal, State and Local Courts as a Qualified Expert Witness, many involving landmark cases.

He is a very interesting teacher and will hold the boys attention with many stories and experiments, for instance starting a fire with an ice cube!

If you think your troop would like to attend please contact me so that we can get an idea of how many may be attending. You can contact me at the number below or email me at Todd.Yoder at centraladjustment.com.
