Troop Representative

As our fall scouting begins O.A. encourages your troop to appoint an O.A. Troop Representative. A good rule of thumb to follow would be to appoint an O.A. youth member that has a computer and basic knowledge of sending E-Mail. We would like to send the youth E-Mail and other information about the Chapter or Lodge, then to have the youth send or forward this information to the troop and it's O.A. membership. The basic information about the Troop Representative Leadership position is detailed on the national O.A. website (www.oa-bsa.org). The council website (www.westarkbsa.org) or Razorback website (www.razorbackscouts.org) also publishes calendars, information and links about O.A. and other council scouting information. We hope to bring the Oakleaf and then event registration on line for O.A. The Troop Representative will be a method of sending information to troop O.A. members. The Troop Representative will be a large step in O.A. membership communication.

SCOUTMASTERS SHOULD!!

1.Appoint an O.A. youth to be O.A. Troop Representative.

2.Have that Troop Representative fill out a registration form.

3.The Troop Representative should send the form to: William C. Spilman (MR. Bill) 3511 South 35th street, Fort Smith, Arkansas, 72903.

4. The Troop Representative should send Mr. Bill an E-Mail verifying that they are the Troop Representative. E-Mail (wbsm05 at yahoo.com)

5.The Troop Representative should start attending District Roundtable meetings each month.

6.The scoutmaster and Troop Representative should work together to get the Troop Representative their Patch or Badge of office.

7.The Troop Representative should start going to the national O.A. website and type in troop representative in the search window and learn about their new leadership position.

8.The Troop Representative should start watching the websites for information and start forwarding it to O.A. members or leadership in their troop.

Thank You For Your Cheerful Service!
