                             Adventure Weekend 2005

Adventure Weekend is a recruiting tool

for Boy Scouts.  Fifth and Sixth grade boys 

Are invited to attend an overnight campout

 at RSR with a host troop.  After the weekend,

they are encouraged to join the troop.

 

Adventure Weekend will be held May 14 and 15 at Rogers Scout Reservation.  The cost will be $15.00 each.  Any boy who joins a troop as a result of Adventure Weekend will have his registration fee waived.

 

There are three groups involved in Adventure Weekend:  the Council Adventure Weekend committee, each district's membership committee, and host troops in each district.  Their responsibilities are summarized here:

 

      Adventure Weekend Committee:  This committee will plan and conduct the 
      weekend itself.  They will provide flyers, adventure survey forms, information sheets, and                 

      applications to the districts.

      

      District Membership Committee:  The membership committee is responsible 

      for identifying boys to attend Adventure Weekend and for matching those 

      boys up with host troops.  Intent is to recruit new boys and not those 

      presently registered.

 

     Host Troops:  These troops are responsible for transporting the boys to camp, 

     supervising them at camp, and recruiting them after the weekend.  Also, they 

     must have two-deep adult leadership and two registered youth leaders.
